There is little distinction between guniting and shotcreting. Gunite was first used in the early 1900s. The procedure used air pressure to apply mortar on walls that were considerably less thick than today’s structures.
On the other hand, shotcrete is an improvement of gunite. Its use results in the building of more durable walls with greater thickness. The wet-mix process has generally been cast aside in favor of the dry-mix process, because the latter produces much better results. The dry-mix techniques employ high-speed or low-speed system. The lower speed gunite, on the other hand, is passed through using a big hose for bigger concrete load yield. The concrete compunction is less under this process.

Hard-to-access areas would also benefit from the dry-mix delivery system, while the applicator exhibits more control of the nozzle and hose because they are lighter. It’s also more efficient when you introduce admixes because they can be applied on command.
